Course objectives

Following the publication in May 2014 of the latest amendment to Royal Decree 335/10, which regulates the activities of customs representation, by 2020 all freight forwarders and customs agencies must ensure that their customs management staff and/or legal representatives are accredited as “Customs Representatives”.

The resolution of 21 July 2016 issued by the Presidency of the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT) and published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) on 28 July of the same month announced the aptitude tests for qualification as a Customs Representative. In accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 335/2010, the tests will be held every two years, with the final round of tests under this Decree scheduled for 2020.
From this date onwards, it will be essential for companies wishing to carry out customs representation activities to have at least one individual with this accreditation, either in a management role or on their staff. It is also highly recommended for all companies currently carrying out such activities on the basis of their status as Authorised Economic Operators, given the new provisions in this regard that came into force with the new Union Customs Code.

ATEIA OLTRA and the Valenciaport Foundation are organising this exam preparation course, using a very clear methodology, with the primary aim of preparing students to pass the exam successfully. The course therefore takes a fully practical approach, with teaching staff comprising the leading specialists in each subject.

Students who have successfully completed our previous cohorts have benefited from exemption from sitting the theoretical papers of the official examination; a recognition which, beyond the knowledge acquired, constitutes a distinguishing feature and a clear advantage over other candidates seeking accreditation as Customs Representatives.

Who it is aimed at

It is aimed at anyone involved in international trade and logistics who is interested in obtaining this professional accreditation, but primarily at current customs managers and legal representatives of freight forwarders and customs agencies in our sector who have not yet been able to obtain it.
